Aikidaily is happy to announce that we will be hosting Robert Mustard Shihan (8th dan) of Aikido Yoshinkai Burnaby for a special class on May 14th.
Robert Mustard Sensei is recognized as one of the worlds’ leading aikido practitioners and instructors. For close to 10 years he trained as a student of Soke Gozo Shioda, founder of Yoshinkan Aikido, Takafumi Takeno Sensei, 9th Dan; and Tsutomu Chida Sensei, 8th Dan. In 1991 Mustard Sensei was appointed Itaku Shidoin by Shioda Kancho and remained the Chief Foreign Instructor at the Yoshinkan Honbu Dojo until he moved back to Canada in 1995.
For more details on Mustard Shihan and his dojo, please visit Aikido Yoshinkan Burnaby’s web site at www.aikidoburnaby.com
I have asked Mustard Sensei to explore some of the basic techniques of Aikido with the class. Although the teaching methodology is different than what we practice in the Aikikai, the principles and aikido are the same. Please come out and explore familiar techniques from a different perspective.
This seminar will be a great opportunity to create a bridge in our community and make new connections and friends.
