Grant Sensei 5th dan promotion!

Aikidaily would like to acknowledge our Chief Instructor, Grant Sensei, on his promotion to 5th Dan!

We appreciate his dedication, guidance and the support he offers his students and community.

We would like to further acknowledge the sensei and senpai who have guided Grant sensei over the years, and the greater Aikido community for their support and encouragement.

We are fundraising!

Please help us with our fundraiser!

Four of our teens are going to Calgary for a teen leadership retreat in August hosted by Big Rock Aikikai. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn leadership skills that they can bring back to the dojo. A large group of teens from Victoria will also be joining us, as well as a few other guests from other dojos. Our objective is to bring the costs to families to zero. Our goal is to raise $2500.

We have brought many items back from Japan with us to use as raffle prizes. Check the photos and details below.

We will have 3 different draws.

$20/ticket, maximum 75 tickets sold.

#2 Japanese cultural set (Japanese green tea, Japanese genmai tea, Japanese towels x 2, chopstick set, Senbei (rice crackers with black sesame), Dorayaki (two small pancake-like patties with a filling of sweet azuki bean paste), Manekineko (Lucky cat) candy, a tote bag with a Japanese traditional painting on it, and a Samurai fridge magnet.)

We are Hiring!

Assistant Child Care Supervisor for After School Activities.

Our ideal candidate is able to easily engage with children between the ages of 5 and 10; has a desire to guide children in yoga and meditation; do art, read books and play games with them to enrich their lives and has a driver's license.

The real job is to pick up kids from school, keep them engaged doing positive activities that help promote a healthy and positive lifestyle: between when they get dropped off from school, their aikido class, and when they get picked up by their parents before 6pm.

This would be for a revolving group of no more than 15 children for approximately 3.5 hours 3 days a week between 2:45pm and 6:15pm or earlier. Compensation is for 3.5hrs minimum for every scheduled day regardless of hours worked.

We are very flexible with how you run the program as long as the children are engaged and having a positive experience.

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Salary and benefits are negotiable. Bringing your child to work is a possibility.
