Self Defense Workshop

Aikidaily is very excited to be able to host a self-defense workshop again!

We have Andrew Ganyo as a guest instructor. He is a British national who now lives in Maple Ridge, comes with a military background and decades of hand-to-hand combat experience. The Close Combat Concepts system is based on his years of training and experience.

In this course, you will learn to use your instinctual reactions to physical threats effectively to protect yourself and your loved ones. This is a no-nonsense system developed through experience in real-life situations.


Date: October 22 - 23 (Sat and Sun)

Time: 10 am - 4 pm

Place: Aikidaily International Academy, #307 - 1201 Commercial Way

Fee: $250 for two days

6 week introduction to Aikido for beginners

Have you ever tried Aikido?

Join our 6 week introductory course starting on Wednesday, September 21st.

Don’t know anything about Aikido. Not a problem. Here is your chance to try it out.

This course will introduce you to basic Aikido movements and principles, including how to fall and roll safely, moving your body in a coordinated manner, staying off the line of attack, and breaking someones balance while maintaining your own. This course will prepare you to take the next step on your Aikido journey.

What is Aikido?

Aikido is a traditional none-competitive Japanese martial art that focuses on blending and re-directing your partner's energy to create a positive outcome. Individuals work at their own pace in a cooperative and harmonious environment.

What is the schedule?

The course on every Wednesday beginning September 21st, and finishing on October 26th.

Classes will be from 7:00-8:00pm.

What does it cost?

$80 will grant you access to this 6 week introductory course.

What to wear?

Loose fitting clothes with long sleeves and long pants are ideal.

If you have a uniform, you are welcome to wear it.

Please make sure to remove all jewelry and keep your nails trimmed for safety.

What happens after the course?

Join the club, get a uniform and start attending regular classes.

MOVIE OF THE MONTH: Matilda


Date: May 14 (Sat)

Time: 6:30-9:00 pm

Parents get a little break and the kids get to have a lot of fun!

The movie will be played in the dojo, so that we have lots of room and space will be limited to 25 kids. This is a great opportunity for all the kids to meet outside of class, eat some snacks together, socialize and create stronger connections. We will provide the popcorn, homemade lemonade, take time to play games and watch a show.

Drop off for movie nights is after 6:30pm. Pick up is between 8:30 and 9:00.

Movie nights are by donation.
