Etsunen Geiko - New Year's Eve Aikido Practice and Celebration

Time: December 31, 11:30 pm - 1:30 am

Class: 11:30 pm-12:30 am

Celebration: 12:30 am- 1:30 am

We're getting close to that time again when we say goodbye to the year that was and welcome the year that will be in the best way ever ON THE MATS!

Come join us in this traditional year-end practice followed by light snacks and a toast.

*Every year, the Aikikai World Headquarters hosts a very special tradition called "Etsunen Geiko" (year-end practice). Aikido practitioners gather from far and wide to train together during the last half hour of the year and first half hour of the next. After class, they celebrate the start of the year with light snacks and Japanese sake.

Steve Erickson Sensei's special classes

Sepcial classes with Steve Erickson Sensei, 6th dan, Chief Instructor of Big Rock Aikikai, in Calgary

Steve Sensei has been operating his club for just about 25 years. He has the most successful children’s program in our organization and is at the forefront of youth empowerment and leadership programs in aikido dojos in Canada.

Over spring break this past year, we were able to bring a group of teens to his dojo to see how great it is and they came back inspired and on fire. He is a passionate and inspiring instructor and we are so pleased to be able to host him.

It’s his first time teaching in Squamish, so don’t miss this opportunity!
